JBL x SAIL: United by Waves
For the third year in a row, we had the pleasure of organising the summer event for Harman (JBL) Netherlands, and this edition came with a special twist. The challenge: could the annual summer party be combined with SAIL Amsterdam, the largest nautical event in the world? With the Harman headquarters located right on the IJ, the answer was practically given: absolutely. The perfect location to experience the impressive SAIL-IN up close and bring together all European colleagues for their annual informal gathering.
From the very first idea to the final track of the night, we handled the full concept development, production and coordination. The concept revolved around connection and informal togetherness, guided by the theme ‘United by Waves’. We transformed the office into a luxury cruise ship in a chic nautical style, complete with elegant décor and maritime accents.

Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with a glass of champagne as they took in the transformed workspace. Following an elegantly lit pathway, they made their way to the rooftop terrace: the Captain’s Lounge. There, with music in the background, a cocktail in hand and a pair of binoculars within reach, they enjoyed the impressive tall ships slowly passing by.
The afternoon was all about fun, relaxation and connection. A nautical-themed music bingo brought fresh energy with familiar sing-alongs and spontaneous dance moments. Anyone needing a quick recharge could head to the cocktail bar for a Blue Ocean or a Dark ’n Stormy. Meanwhile, the seafood tower filled with fresh oysters, prawns and crab stole the show – a true eye-catcher that gave the nautical concept a literal taste.
Dinner and celebration on REM-Eiland: the ultimate finale
As the sun slowly set, the group made their way together to the iconic REM-Eiland, a unique spot on the water where the event continued. During dinner, guests enjoyed a panoramic view of the harbour and the illuminated masts of the tall ships. A glam booth and photobooth created spontaneous moments and lasting memories, while a live saxophonist added atmosphere to the evening celebration.
We look back with pride on this special production for our long-term partner. Guests rated the event an 8.6, a fantastic result that perfectly reflects the positive vibe, creativity and sense of connection throughout the day. One for the books.
